Brittany Higgins has shared a bubbly Valentine’s Day tribute to her husband-to-be, David Sharaz, on the most romantic day of the year.
The former political aide, 29, and her ex-journalist fiance, 30, moved with their cavoodle Kingston and cat Clover into a five-bedroom chateau in the small French town of Lunas, west of Montpellier, shortly before Christmas last year.
On Wednesday, Ms Higgins shared a loved-up photo of her and Mr Sharaz, who locked lips in a passionate embrace in the winter sun, to her Instagram Stories.
‘My Valentine. Now and always,” the intimate photo captioned.
It’s the latest insight into the couple’s new life in France, where they are looking for a “fresh start” after a grueling few years in the political spotlight.

In mid-January, Ms. Higgins shared a series of photos from their first month in France with a quote from French philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre, which translates as “we are our choices.”
The couple once traveled to Paris where they visited the Arc de Triumphe, art galleries and museums.
They also cooked a roast dinner paired with bubbly for their first Christmas abroad, with Mr Sharaz posing proudly at the head of a long table.
Mr Sharaz proposed on New Year’s Eve 2022 on top of the Cape Byron Lighthouse in Byron Bay.
Ms Higgins, a former Liberal Party worker, received about $2.4 million from taxpayers in 2022 based on claims her political career was in shambles after she claimed she was pushed into Parliament by former Liberal Party colleague Lehrmann in 2019 House had been raped.
Mr. Lehrmann has always strongly denied the allegations.
The couple’s quiet life in Lunas is a far cry from the ongoing political tumult they left behind in Australia.
More than four years, two explosive interviews, a failed trial, a huge damages award, ongoing defamation lawsuits, a flood of leaks and several judicial careers later, the case still dominates the political agenda.
Most recently, Lisa Wilkinson, who first interviewed Ms Higgins about her allegations in February 2021, won her battle against Network Ten over who should pay her legal costs in the defamation proceedings brought by Bruce Lehrmann.
Judge Michael Lee plans to rule on the defamation case in March or April.
