Britt Ekland, 80, showcases her age-defying features at the 50th anniversary of The Wicker Man

Britt Eckland looked stunning as she attended the 50th anniversary of her film The Wicker Man at London’s Picturehouse cinema on Monday.

The Swedish actress, 80, showed off her age-defying features as she joined a host of her former co-stars at the event.

Britt played Willow MacGregor in the now-iconic 1973 horror, which followed the story of police officer Neil Howie (played by the late Edward Woodward) as he searches for a missing girl on the isolated Scottish island of Summerisle.

The blonde beauty cut an incredibly chic figure in a blue double-breasted blazer she wore over a black ensemble.

She opted for a light layer of make-up and wore her blonde locks loose as they fell to her shoulders.

The film is best remembered for its gruesome climax in which the late Christopher Lee’s character sets fire to a huge pagan effigy.

It comes after Britt, who starred in the 1974 James Bond movie The Man with the Golden Gun, insists she’ll keep her bombshell look until “the day I die.”

The actress confidently told the Mirror: ‘I will dye my hair until the day I die. Vanity is my best friend.’

She added, “I don’t think there are many people who get to my age and can work and run around and take care of things and enjoy life and feel healthy and happy.

“I’m very grateful for that.”

Britt starred alongside the late Sir Roger Moore in The Man with the Golden Gun and she says she is still recognized today.

“People who meet me still call me a Bond Girl,” she explained. “And they find it so exciting – like I made the movie yesterday. But 007 is almost my age now.’

The star said there is nothing that makes her prouder than knowing she is part of ‘movie history’, adding that she sees the Bond character as an ‘icon’ and as a Bond girl she is part of the legacy of the franchise.

And she says she spent most of her days filming the 007 movies in a bikini along with fellow Bond girl, Swedish actress Maud Adams, who is still a good friend.

Britt remembers actor Sir Roger Moore – who passed away in 2017 and played James Bond in seven films between 1973 and 1985 – as ‘the perfect gentleman’.

She said he entertained the cast and crew, but insisted he was very professional on set.

Britt was already known as an actress before starring as Mary Goodnight, having appeared in films like Get Carter and The Wicker Man.

The actress added that although she wore swimwear for most of her time on the Bond set, Sir Roger never flirted at all, so she always felt comfortable.

Despite being proud of her looks today, Britt has previously spoken out about her regret about getting fillers on her face, describing it as “the biggest mistake of my life.”

The Swedish actress said in an interview with Platinum magazine last June that she would never have plastic surgery again after undergoing a terrifying “lip-pumping” procedure in Paris.

Looking back, Britt claimed, “Everyone has the right to choose [surgery]. I did all that when I was 50, but wouldn’t consider it again. I don’t want to look different than I am.’

The actress had made an appointment with a doctor in Paris through a consultancy on Harley Street to have her lips filled.

Instead of the mediocre treatment she expected, the doctor injected several injections around the edge of her lips with Articol, which he said was a “new dental material.”

Looking back on the incident, Britt claimed she “felt like I screwed up my face” and said she is now content with getting older and no longer looking for cosmetic surgery that will help her maintain her appearance.

She said, “I feel great now, better than I’ve felt in many years… getting older happens to everyone. There’s no point complaining about it or wishing you could change.

“We’re all going in one direction and there’s nothing we can do about it. It’s about taking care of yourself on that journey.”
