The Circus hitmaker – who admitted she was heartbroken over her split from Justin Timberlake – takes particular issue with the way her mother wrote about her 2007 meltdown in her 2008 book Through the Storm.
The mum-of-two thinks her mother traded on her fame to promote her book.

“I sat for hours thinking and thinking about everything that happened,” Lynn Meredith Vieri said in September 2008.
‘It was a whirlwind. It’s been a wild ride for everyone,” she added.
In her memoir, the Tokic Poni singer wrote how upset she was that her mom was talking about the “darkest times of her life” and “making money” from her book.
All of this made her wonder if she was as ‘bad’ as her mother told everyone she was.
Britney claimed in 2022 that her mother was the driving force behind helping her father, Jamie Spears, 71, establish custody of her for 13 years.
“The woman pitched the idea to my dad and my mom actually helped him execute it and make it happen,” Britney said in a video that has since been deleted from YouTube.
“Basically everything was set up.” There were no drugs in my system. Alcohol-free. No nothing. It was pure abuse.’
The Oops!…I Did It Again singer also said she was angrier at her mum than her dad over the conservatorship.
