One person shared a photo of themselves holding the Spanish version of the book, with stacks of other copies visible in the background.

They said, ‘Holaaaaa amigos, Robin and I made it to Mexico just in time to get our hands on a pirated copy of Britney’s book. #TheWomanInMe I’ll leak it soon.”

Oh no! The 41-year-old pop star will release The Woman in Me on October 24, but there are rumors that the book has accidentally already gone on sale in Mexico City.

Someone else wrote: ‘Rumor has it that Britney’s book is already on sale in Mexico!? My sister is on vaycay in Mexico!! I texted her to try and find it.”

A third echoed: “And in Mexico, maybe accidentally, they’re selling Britney’s biography at a book fair. That man has already uploaded the fifty pages in question.’

While a fan site reported: ‘The book #TheWomanInMe is OFFICIALLY on sale in Mexico. Several people have uploaded videos and photos to social networks to purchase the book.”

And a fifth even shared an alleged video of the book, showing the cover and then flipping through the pages and giving a peek inside the cover.

The authenticity of the video is lent by the fact that the publication page states that the book was published by Penguin Random House in consultation with the original publisher, Gallery Books.

The translation is also credited to Marta de Bru de Sala i Martí, Verónica Canales Medina and Noemi Risco Mateo, who are listed as the translators for the Spanish version.

As more and more people took to social media to share spoilers from the book, they faced mounting backlash from Britney’s fans.

A Britney fan account tweeted: “A bookstore in Mexico is under fire for leaving #thewomaninme copies on the shelves a week before release.”

Another fan page wrote: ‘The book #TheWomaninMe has already gone on sale in Mexico without notice.

‘We are not sharing ANYTHING about the book from this account. Let’s respect Britney’s work.’

Several people on Reddit subsequently reported that the fans who leaked the memoir had begun removing spoilers despite the criticism.

It was also claimed that the bookstore that made the mistake had removed the books from their shelves.

One person claimed: ‘They’re telling me they’ve already withdrawn the book, that tiktok got them in trouble and they’re going to sell it at the end of the month.’

Britney’s long-awaited memoir comes nearly two years after she was released from a 13-year judicial conservatorship set up and controlled by her father, Jamie Spears.

The scheme controlled the singer’s personal life, career and $60 million estate from 2008 until its termination in November 2021.

The title of the memoir is apparently taken from a line in the book in which Britney wrote, “The woman in me was pushed down for a long time. They wanted me to be wild on stage, like they said I should be, and be a robot the rest of the time.”

There have already been several surprising excerpts and revelations ahead of the book’s release.

According to excerpts published Tuesday, Britney said she had an abortion at the age of 19 after unexpectedly becoming pregnant by fellow pop star Justin Timberlake during their relationship in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

The star claimed that although she wanted the baby and ‘dreamed of a family’ with Justin, who was also 19 at the time, he was ‘not ready’ for the responsibilities of parenthood and felt the couple were too young.

She writes this in an excerpt obtained by People: ‘It was a surprise, but for me it was not a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected that one day we would start a family together. This would just be a lot sooner than I expected.

“He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young. I’m sure people will hate me for this, but I agreed not to have the baby.

‘I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been up to me alone, I would never have done it. And yet Justin was so sure he didn’t want to be a father.

The Toxic hitmaker said in the memoir that the abortion was “one of the most painful things I have ever experienced in my life.”

Justin and Britney, who met as young cast members on television’s The Mickey Mouse Club, dated for about three years in their late teens and early twenties, becoming gossip sensations before abruptly splitting in 2002.

Britney was relentlessly questioned in the media about her virginity, while Justin said he had slept with her and then wrote a song Cry Me a River, in which he suggested she had been unfaithful to him in their relationship.

In 2021, following a TV documentary about Britney that included a segment about how she was shamed in the media when their relationship ended, Justin publicly apologized to Britney on social media, saying he had “let her down.”

Britney became the mother of two sons, now aged 18 and 17, with her second husband, Kevin Federline, a singer and former backup dancer to whom she was married for two years.

In April 2022, Britney said she was expecting a third child with then-fiancé Sam Asghari, but the following month she said she suffered a miscarriage.

She and Sam married in June 2022, but he filed for divorce 14 months later in August this year.
