Britney Spears responds to rumors about ex Justin Timberlake and his new tattoo

Britney Spears took to social media on Thursday to clarify that her new heart-shaped tattoo had nothing to do with her ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake.

The superstar, 41, recently showed off her new ink just after sharing some snaps of herself and the Cry Me a River hitmaker, 41, leading fans to speculate they might have been related.

However, in a new text post to her Instagram Stories, the “Toxic” singer explained, “Just to clarify… my tattoo had nothing to do with an ex in the past!”

I just did it because I wanted to!!! The photo with my ex is a time when there was less confusion about what it meant to be together… it is what it is,’ he stated.

It comes after she revealed a new love heart tattoo on her arm on a recent trip to Hawaii, but admitted she instantly regretted it.

After going under the needle for at least the 10th time, the Grammy-winning singer wrote that she didn’t like the artwork.

“Tattoo in Maui 3 days ago,” he captioned the images, which showed him getting tattooed in the middle of his hotel room while vacationing in the Aloha State.

She continued: ‘I can’t show it because it sucks [three laughing emojis]!!! It really sucks!!! Shit!!! Psss… I have to fix it!!!’

In the pictures, she initially seemed excited to get tattooed as she danced around in a pink and white floral crop top and a pair of low-rise shorts as she exclaimed, ‘Tattoo time!’

After changing into a midriff-baring yellow top with a plunging neckline, the mother-of-two stood like a man who permanently etched a small black heart into her right arm.

Looking into the camera, Spears winced before saying the experience was “so cool.”

Spears has at least nine other tattoos, including a triangle tattoo on her right hand, a dice on her left forearm, a fairy on her lower back, and lips on her right forearm.

Additionally, she has a ‘Hebrew Kabbalah’ tattoo on the back of her neck, a cross tattoo on her lower hip, a Chinese tattoo on her bikini line, and more.

Earlier in the day, Spears was clearly feeling nostalgic as she took to Instagram to post some old photos with Justin, who she dated from early 1999 until 2002.

Just days after suffering an alleged ‘manic’ episode at a Los Angeles restaurant on Saturday, the pop star shared a slideshow of photos of her and her ex-boyfriend at a celebrity basketball game in 2001.

During the charity event, which took place at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, the star wore a white Knight T-shirt and a pair of baggy shorts.

“When we used to shoot hoops TOGETHER…that’s when miracles happened,” he captioned two snapshots of the event.

While seemingly nodding to her worldwide fame and nearly three decades in the public eye, Spears asked why she “was always shunned,” despite coming out of “her mother’s stomach like everyone else.”

“I’m the same as everyone,” he concluded.

Her latest post came after her husband, Sam Asghari, denied that Spears had a “manic stroke” while out at a restaurant over the weekend.

“Don’t believe what you read online people,” he wrote on his Instagram story.

The artist had reportedly been seen “talking nonsense” when fans tried to snap photos of her having dinner with Sam, 28, at JOEY restaurant in Woodland Hills on Friday, before he appeared to storm out. TMZ initially reported.

However, Sam also spoke to a photographer on Sunday, explaining that his wife was simply “frustrated” that fans were trying to take a photo of them eating dinner.

“People get too excited to see my wife, so everyone is filming, doing their thing,” he explained. ‘But you know how it is, fame comes with the territory and I went to get the car to get out of there, and people thought I was gone, but that didn’t happen. Then it is what it is man.’

Asked if Britney, whose conservatorship ended last year, had been frustrated by the situation, Sam added: “Yes, exactly, she was frustrated and disrespected.”
