Spears faced vitriol on social media from those defending Jackson after Robson and podcast co-host James Safechuck accused him of sexually abusing them as children.
“Any tongue that stands up to Michael Jackson will fall, so Britney just signed her death warrant in front of millions, I mean billions of people,” one person wrote. “To me she’s dead.”
Another wrote: ‘Honestly this was the most disrespectful thing you could do to Michael Jackson while calling your girlfriend Britney! Not cool, not cool!’
“The way Michael Jackson did everything right for everyone, only to be rewarded with lies and betrayal, is always baffling,” wrote another. “Shame on everyone who helped Michael in their own lives and careers, including that b***h Britney.”
Since 2013, Robson and Safechuck, 46, have alleged that Jackson sexually abused them when they were children, attempting to take their case to court numerous times over the years.
Robson alleged that the Thriller artist abused him at his Neverland Ranch when he was between the ages of seven and 14.
They previously defended Jackson against charges in 1993, and Robson came to his defense again in 2005.
Following his and Safechuck’s appearance in the 2019 documentary Leaving Neverland, a court last year approved Robson’s lawsuit against Jackson’s MJJ Productions, Inc. Good.
The HBO documentary divided fans as many held Jackson responsible, while others argued it wasn’t fair that the allegations only surfaced after his death.
