Britney Spears’ ex Sam Asghari breaks his silence after being called a ‘gift from God’ in the singer’s tell-all memoir, The Woman In Me

Britney Spears’ estranged husband Sam Asghari has broken his silence after the singer called him ‘a gift from God’ in her memoir The Woman In Me – written before their shock split.

The pop icon, 41, and the aspiring actor, 29, were together for seven years and married just 14 months before splitting in August 2023 – leaving fans shocked by Spears’ warm feelings towards her ex.

Asghari said of the reactions on Thursday: ‘That made me smile to be honest, I’m very proud of her and I hope she takes over the world.’

Asghari filed for divorce on the grounds of “irreconcilable differences,” but in her memoir, Spears only has nice things to say about her former partner.

“I appreciate how stable he is. I love that he doesn’t even drink,” she wrote of Asghari, whom she met in October 2016 while shooting the music video for her hit Slumber Party.”

The mother-of-two also told readers she “knew” she wanted him in her life “immediately.”

‘The chemistry with us was insane in the beginning. We couldn’t keep our hands off each other,” she remembers.

The Grammy winner also credited her former lover with giving her the strength to speak out against her “abusive” 13-year conservatorship.

During her public hearing in June 2021, Spears said Asghari “squeezed” her hand as a sign of his support.

“I look up to him — his consistency with working out and being a good man and being healthy and taking care of me and helping me learn how to take care of each other,” she said. “He is such an inspiration and I am grateful.”

Sources told Page Six that Spears had already submitted her final manuscript for her book before they broke up.

When asked if he was nervous about the outcome of the tell-all story, Asghari told TMZ he wasn’t and that he had “already read it.”

“I’m very proud of her and you know, she put a lot of work into it, and it was very difficult, so I’m definitely excited and extremely proud of her,” Sam continued.

About the singer who wrote the book, he said: “It was a tough job.” In closing, he added, “I’m the first in line to buy it.”

However, her father, Jamie, reportedly has an opposing opinion about the memoir.

A source said TMZ that he has no plans to read the book, adding that he “doesn’t care about what Britney has to say about him in her new book…”

The insider continued: “She has already trashed him both in court and on social media, once saying she hoped he would spend the rest of his life in prison. ‘

Notably, in August, Sam filed for divorce from Spears after just over a year of marriage. He cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce and is asking for spousal support from the artist, as well as coverage for his legal costs.

Due to an “iron marriage contract,” Sam will not benefit from her upcoming memoir. He is mentioned in the book, but “not much,” a source recently told DailyMail.com.

However, sources told TMZ that the singer made “some changes” to the memoir after their divorce.

Speaking for the first time since the divorce news emerged, Britney admitted she was “a little shocked” but “couldn’t take the pain anymore…”

The star later said she would focus on staying ‘strong’ and concluded: ‘And I’m actually doing quite well!!! Anyway, have a great day and don’t forget to smile!!!’

Asghari has previously claimed that Britney got “physical” with him several times during their relationship.
