Britney Spears’ estranged husband Sam Asghari shuts down question about split with singer and says what he has in common with Leonardo DiCaprio on SAG-AFTRA strike line

Britney Spears’ estranged husband Sam Asghari declined to talk about his divorce from the pop star on Thursday as he walked past the SAG-AFTRA strike picket, noting that the strike has put him in a similar situation to Leonardo DiCaprio.

The 29-year-old actor chatted with a photographer as he marched in Burbank, California, where he shrugged off questions about his split from the Grammy-winning artist, saying the focus was on the labor dispute that has thrown Hollywood into crisis.

“We’re not here to talk about my personal life,” the Tehran, Iranian-born actor-model said in a clip published by TMZ. “We are here to raise awareness about my brothers and sisters who work hard and strike for my future.”

Asghari, who has appeared on shows like PBC, Black Monday and Hacks, said he was focused on ending the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes that have brought the industry to a near standstill.

“I hope everything gets sorted out soon,” he said, “so we can all get back to doing what we love most: making art and inspiring people.”

The budding actor, depicting the magnitude of the labor stoppage, noted that the strikes have affected everyone in the industry, citing Oscar winner DiCaprio as his example.

When asked if he is out of work, Asghari replied, “That’s the point of this strike: I have the same number of jobs as Leonardo DiCaprio.”

Asghari and DiCaprio both have ongoing projects as the industry has been shut down due to the ongoing work stoppage.

Asghari’s most prominent role is a role in the comedy Grand Death Lotto directed by Paul Feig and starring John Cena, Simu Liu, Awkwafina and Seann William Scott.

According to iMDb, DiCaprio has four acting jobs in projects like The Crowded Room, Jim Jones, The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny, and Murder and Roosevelt pending the strike.

Asghari also spoke of his concerns during the ongoing WGA strike, saying that “writers are the heart and soul of every project we do.”

Asghari is focusing on working after the 41-year-old Toxic singer’s divorce filing earlier this month, a source told American Weekly on Thursday.

“Sam continues to work on his fitness brand, but his main focus is on continuing his acting career,” an insider told the publication. ‘That’s where his passion lies and what makes him happiest.’

Asghari “is focused on moving on with his life and while he shared many happy memories with Britney, he is excited to see what’s next,” the source said.

The source told the outlet that Asghari is “focusing on herself for now” in the wake of the split after more than a year of marriage.

“Sam hasn’t really communicated with Britney since he moved out,” the source said. “While he’s open to a friendly relationship with Britney, he just needs some space for now.”

Asghari has “no hard feelings” amid the split and is focused on “making the most of it” going forward, the source said.

Following his breakup with the Lucky singer, Asghari posted a statement on his Instagram account about the breakup, telling his followers, “S**t happens.”

“After six years of love and commitment to each other, my wife and I have decided to end our journey together,” he said. “We will hold on to the love and respect we have for each other and I always wish her well.

“Asking for privacy seems ridiculous, so I ask everyone, including the media, to be kind and considerate.”
