Britney Spears defended actress Kate Beckinsale in an Instagram post on Wednesday, after the English actress responded to internet trolls who criticized her for posting clips of herself dancing to let off steam amid a series of personal tragedies she’s been dealing with.

Spears, 42, posted a text message advocating for Beckinsale, 50, who is struggling with personal issues including the death of her stepfather, her mother’s cancer diagnosis and a six-week hospital stay.

The Grammy-winning singer told her 42.2 million followers: ‘Have you seen the movie Serendipity with Kate Beckinsale? Well let me tell you…if you haven’t, you definitely need to!!!

‘I love Kate Beckinsale especially because she’s from London!!! I realized how incredibly cruel people were talking about her Instagram account and saying she needed more age appropriate content… she’s in her 50s and I thought it was pretty badass how she responded by putting a mini bow in her hair that literally made her look like she was 4 years old!!!’

The Oops!… I Did It Again artist said that ‘wealth and health’ don’t ‘just’ depend on finances, but rather on serving these wise assholes, just like Kate did!!!’

Britney Spears, 42, defended actress Kate Beckinsale, 50, in an Instagram post on Wednesday, after the English actress hit back at trolls who criticized her for posting clips of herself dancing to let off steam amid a series of personal tragedies she’s been dealing with.

Spears drew a comparison between the criticism she’s received for her social media posts and the feedback Beckinsale has received, pointing to the “comments” on her page saying it’s “sad” that at her age she “dances every day” on her Instagram.

Spears said she was ‘teaching a dance class for some teenagers last week’ and that she believes it’s important for people to ‘HELP EACH OTHER’ and invite each other to places where our souls can grow!!!’

The Toxic singer asked, “What are you gonna do to help someone and make their dreams come true other than act like Kate and I are too old or don’t have any content right???

“Do you think they might be offended by what they see?”

The …Baby One More Time artist said she believes being vulnerable enough to ask someone for inspiration or help is incredibly beautiful…

‘But ironically, in the world we live in, where people can be so unbelievably cruel, you have to be very careful who you let into your circle and your heart!!!’

Spears also responded to recent criticism from Ozzy Osbourne, 75, and daughter Kelly Osbourne, 39, who were critical of her Instagram posts of her dancing, on their The Osbournes Podcast.

Kelly said she felt “sorry” for the singer, while Ozzy said: “You know, it’s sad, very, very sad.”

Spears responded, “I’m going to do a photo shoot with Kate and then I’m going to tell the Osbourne family, the most boring family known to man, to go fuck themselves!!!”

Beckinsale took to Instagram earlier this month to respond to critics who had taken issue with her age and appearance, following a series of social media posts in which she vented during difficult times.

Along with a clip, Beckinsale quoted Kanye West’s 2010 song Runaway, telling her critics, “Let’s raise a toast to the douchebags. Let’s raise a toast to the assholes. Let’s raise a toast to the villains.”

Beckinsale cited the “stress and grief” she experienced following the death of her stepfather Roy Battersby earlier this year, as well as her mother Judy Loe’s cancer diagnosis and the health issues she has been struggling with.
