Britney Spears celebrated nearly a year off from her conservatory, which had been controlled by her father for more than a decade, with a trip to Mexico.
While on vacation, the singer, 40, shared a video of herself rocking an orange and pink plunging plunging crop top and black low-cut jeans.
“It’s been a long time since I spoke to you,” she said on the tape before reflecting on the passage of time since she became a “free woman” again.

In the footage, the mother of two went out to play with a monkey named after pop star Justin Bieber, whom she gave a sweet kiss.
A second post contained a slideshow of snaps from her escape from posing in the streets with a beaming smile on her face.
The Grammy winner’s 13-year conservatorship came to an end on November 2021, in what she called the “best day ever.”

“I think I’m going to cry for the rest of the day!!!! Best day ever…praise the Lord…can I get an amen,” she tweeted at the time.
In 2020, Britney began begging the court to end her father’s control and to end the conservatory — which she called “abuse” — altogether.
The singer had told the court she was “afraid” of her father and stated that she would not perform again until he was no longer in charge of the conservatory he had been closely monitoring since its much-discussed collapse in 2008.

One of her most heartbreaking revelations came during a tearful phone call to Judge Penny’s court in June 2020, when she said she wanted to have a baby with her then-fiance, but the conservatory didn’t allow her to remove her IUD on birth control.
“I feel trapped and bullied and alone,” Britney told the court during that emotional statement. “I just want my life back.”
She also told the judge that she felt ‘enslaved’ by her father, who she said ‘should be in prison’.
