Britney Spears, 41, admits in new memoir she fangirled over Mariah Carey, 54, decades ago: ‘She has the most beautiful, otherworldly light’

Britney Spears had a fangirl moment more than twenty years ago when she met 54-year-old Mariah Carey.

In her memoir, The Woman In Me, the Hit Me Baby One More Time hitmaker talks about the moment: “At an awards ceremony, I knocked on (Mariah’s) dressing room door.”

Continuing, the 41-year-old pop princess explained, “She opened it and poured it out most beautiful, otherworldly light.’

Gushing over the All I Want For Christmas Is You diva, Britney added, “You know how people have ring lights? Over twenty years ago, only Mariah Carey knew about ring lighting.”

The heartwarming memory follows unearthed interviews of both singing sensations who praised each other over the years.

For example, in 2021, the We Belong Together singer shared her support for the Free Britney movement when she spoke to E! News.

“I think everyone on this planet deserves to be free,” she said.

“What they did to (Britney), what I saw, was horrific,” Mariah added.

Determined to help her fellow entertainer, Nick Cannon’s ex-wife reached out to Britney through a mutual friend.

“I wanted (Britney) to know, ‘Guess what? You’re not alone,'” the New York-born beauty shared.

The Crossroads actress has also shown her love for the Queen of Christmas over the years, even sharing a sweet Instagram post in March revealing that she once made a fake music video for Mariah’s hit single Dreamlover.

“My first fantasy video was Dreamlover by Mariah Carey, outside wearing my mom’s heels as she walked through a garden with an umbrella,” the Toxic singer wrote in the caption of a throwback photo of herself as a 13-year-old.

In true Britney fashion, the Circus singer poked fun at herself by adding, “The (fake Dreamlover) video was the worst thing I’ve ever seen in my life!”

However, in another sweet tweet from 2020the Lucky singer wished Mariah a happy birthday, crediting the Always Be My Baby singer for inspiring her love of singing.

She kindly added in the same tweet that she would be blasting the Butterfly album at the gym, which would help her fellow A-list singer friend’s album get more attention.

The two vocal powerhouses first met at the 1999 MTV VMA Awards.
