A modern woman’s bathroom has divided interior enthusiasts thanks to a number of “questionable” and potentially dangerous design choices.

The space was built after remodeling the British client’s small bathroom and merging it with the adjacent internal library.

The bathroom is complete with black and white tile, a raised freestanding tub with a “moat” around the perimeter, chrome towel bars, sconces, and built-in shelving.

The problematic bathroom design includes an open shower that leaks into the rest of the room, camouflaged stairs to the tub, a tapered alcove next to the tub and a chandelier just above it, and a camouflaged built-in shelf next to the shower.

The layout is not consistent with traditional bathrooms as the toilet is right at the entrance. A giant bathtub sits atop a small flight of stairs in the corner.

An open shower is located in front of the toilet and has no glass cover or shower curtain, and the walls and floors are tiled in different black and white patterns.

While the remodel has created a modern new look, many are concerned about the potential risks posed by its unique features.

“I sprained my ankle, tore my ACL and broke my neck just looking at this parody,” one woman wrote on a bathroom photo on an interior design Facebook group.

“I don’t want to be dramatic but I can already imagine all the ways I would slip to death in this bathroom,” said another.

She and many others mentioned that the tiled stairs leading to the bathtub are a major hazard, especially when the bathroom is wet.

‘Why are the stairs there? Even if you could see them through the optical illusion, you would still stumble and fall.’

‘This is a cracked skull waiting to happen.’

However, bathroom installers insist that it is perfectly safe and simply a reflection of the client’s desire for a unique and eye-catching bathroom.

The floor tiles are “specifically designed for bathrooms,” so they are capable of taking a “wet, bare foot without risk,” they say.

“Each step is oversized and exactly the same size from top to bottom, so there’s plenty of running surface and it’s very safe. Having personally been in the room, it’s very clear where the steps are; again, they may not be as visible through camera angles,” they added.

‘This bathroom is exactly as the client requested. At one point there was even talk of potentially more steps in the bathroom.

In response to a reviewer who said he “stubbed his toe looking at it,” the company simply responded, “Pay more attention to your surroundings and that won’t happen again.”

‘Either you’re going to love it or you’re going to hate it. But either way, it’s a monster bathroom and the workmanship that has gone into it is second to none.”

Other fans of the interior praised the bathroom, saying that if the owner was pleased, it was perfect.

‘The vision they had is wild. But the job seems to be well executed! Good job,” wrote one woman.

I love it. It’s a masterpiece and that bathroom is something else. I want one!’
