A British holidaymaker is believed to have drowned on a beach in Lanzarote.
The 45-year-old woman was reportedly with her family at the time of the tragedy.
Rescue workers tried to resuscitate her after she was pulled from the sea, before emergency services took over.
They were unable to save her and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Informed sources confirm that the dead woman was British and was with her family at the time.
A spokesman for a regional emergency coordination centre said: ‘We received several reports just before 2.30pm yesterday that a person had been pulled from the water with symptoms of drowning. It was reported that lifeguards were performing basic CPR exercises.
‘An appropriate emergency response was immediately initiated.
‘The emergency services started resuscitation immediately upon arrival, but were unable to save the woman. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
‘The police have been informed.’
Guardia Civil sources said they were still waiting for the autopsy results to confirm the cause of death, but that there was no indication of a crime-related death.
Bryn Thomas, from Southampton, was one of two men who died last month on La Roqueta beach in the Costa Blanca resort of Guardamar del Segura after running into the sea to help two children, aged six and seven, who were in difficulty.
An inquest into the 52-year-old’s death was opened in Winchester earlier this month.
Mr Thomas died together with a 46-year-old man from Poland who also went to help the young people.
