A British woman was robbed and sexually assaulted by two men in Magaluf.
The pair allegedly ripped the 25-year-old woman’s dress and underwear and stole her designer watch and jewelery before fleeing the scene when police arrived.
She was taken to hospital for a routine examination before giving a statement to the Guardia Civil, who are now leading the investigation.
A local newspaper in Mallorca described the incident as a rape. A source at the Guardia Civil said the woman had allegedly been sexually assaulted.
The incident happened in the early hours of Friday morning near a bank on a street in Magaluf, a short walk from the famous Punta Ballena entertainment street. A police officer was injured when the suspects resisted arrest.

The watch the British woman was wearing is said to have been worth nearly £2,000.
The men detained by police are two Colombians, aged 19 and 24, who police say belong to a criminal gang operating in Palma and other Majorcan cities, including Andratx and Inca.
It was not immediately clear today whether a judge has taken them into custody pending an ongoing investigation or released them on bail after their first court appearance.
On Sunday it emerged that the police in Mallorca had arrested a 26-year-old British man on suspicion of rape in a hotel in Santa Ponsa near Magaluf.
The hotel has no name. But sources close to the investigation confirmed on Monday that the girl allegedly sexually assaulted was also British and under 18 years old.
One of them said, “They were in the same hotel and the detained man allegedly raped this girl after forcing her into his room.”
A friend of the youngster said he was a victim of the sexual assault alerted a receptionist who called police around 7pm on Friday.
The friend told officers that the man being held had also tried to force her into the room.
