British wildcard Lily Miyazaki suffers tennis’ ultimate humiliation with a DOUBLE-BAGEL defeat in just 50 minutes… in disastrous start to day four for the Brits at Wimbledon

  • There’s plenty of British action on day four at Wimbledon, including Andy Murray
  • The first opponent for the Brits was wildcard Lily Miyazaki, who took on Daria Kasatkina
  • Two Battle of Britain matches will take place on Field 1 later on Thursday afternoon

British wildcard player Lily Miyazaki managed just 19 points in the entire match after being crushed 6-0, 6-0 by Daria Kasatkina. It was a painful start for the Brits at Wimbledon on the fourth day.

With Katie Boulter taking on Harriet Dart, Jack Draper taking on Cameron Norrie and Andy and Jamie Murray playing doubles together, there is a lot of British interest in the crowd today.

The 28-year-old Miyazaki, ranked 148 in the world, managed just six points in a devastating first set, which Kasatkina decided in 19 minutes.

In an embarrassingly one-sided match, it took three games for Miyazaki to score a point, losing the first 11 points of the match.

In the fifth game she had only three points in the set and she ended the first set 6-0, with only six points to her name.

Miyazaki became the first Briton to receive a double-bagel at Wimbledon since Clare Wood lost to Arantxa Sanchez Vicario in 1997.

By the time Miyazaki shook hands at the net after losing 6-0, 6-0, the other Britons in action had barely appeared on the practice courts.

Field No. 1 is all set for the second Battle of Britain, with British number 1 Katie Boulter taking on her domestic rival Harriet Dart.

After the women’s match, British number 1 Jack Draper will face his good friend Cameron Norrie.

Meanwhile, many eyes will be on the final match of the day on Centre Court as Andy and Jamie Murray team up in the men’s doubles. Andy Murray is keen to put the disappointment of having to retire in the singles behind him.
