A British tourist died today after being ‘pulled from the water’ at a holiday hotspot in Cyprus.
The 62-year-old man was swimming on a beach in Peyia, in the west of the island, when the tragedy occurred.
He disappeared from view before being taken to shore where rescue crews performed CPR on him, unfortunately to no avail, SigmaLive reported.
The man was then rushed to Paphos General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A mandatory autopsy has yet to determine the exact cause of death.

It is unclear whether the man was alone and exactly what beach he was swimming on when events unfolded.
Peyia is a town in the Paphos district of Cyprus and is popular as a tourist destination, especially among British people.
Just last month, an 87-year-old died while swimming in nearby Coral Bay in Peyia – which has a coastline of mainly rocky headlands and large sea caves.
The man was found unconscious after entering the water around 1:30 p.m. While holidaymakers pulled him out of the water and called an ambulance.
