- The girl was attacked while she slept in her hotel room in Kavos
- She reported the incident to Greek police, who accused her alleged attacker of rape
- But she is also accused of violating Greek privacy laws
A British teenage tourist was allegedly raped by another teenager while she slept in a hotel in Corfu.
The 18-year-old girl told Greek police that she was attacked by a fellow countryman while sleeping in her hotel during a holiday in Kavos, in the south of the island.
She told them she woke up and immediately asked him what he was doing. Her alleged attacker, also 18, is said to have responded that he did not know what was going on before apologizing.
The alleged victim recorded the conversation and handed it over to the police when she filed a report last Wednesday.
Since then, a case has been filed against her alleged attacker for rape.

Meanwhile, she was accused of violating laws surrounding the privacy of telephone communications.
It comes just months after an 18-year-old American woman was arrested in Greece after being accused of raping a 20-year-old drunk man.
The victim reportedly told police the woman had “performed sexual acts” without his consent after leading him to an abandoned house in Thessaloniki, Greece’s second-largest city.
He alleged that the woman took advantage of his drunken state and had sexual intercourse with him.
The man said he did not want the sexual encounter, but the woman persisted until they had intercourse.
The suspect has not yet been identified by authorities.
However, Greek media report that she has denied the allegations.
An investigation is ongoing and the suspect is expected to be questioned by prosecutors.
