A British tourist was found dead this morning after attending the infamous Full Moon Party in Thailand.
The 37-year-old holidaymaker had reportedly drank cheap shots before trying to find his way home from the beach event on the island of Koh Phangan.
He is said to have visited an ATM in the hours before his death to withdraw money for a taxi.
But the reveler was found lifeless on the steps of a 7-Eleven store shortly after 6:30 this morning.
Police and paramedics arrived around 7.20am but were unable to revive him. They believe he took ‘booze and drugs’ during the Full Moon Party on Sunday evening.
The tourist lay barefoot on the sidewalk next to an open plastic water bottle. In his pocket was a driver’s license with his name and address on it.
Lieutenant Colonel Arun Kamlangkeo of Koh Phangan Police Station today confirmed that the deceased was British and had lived abroad.
They are now looking for a mysterious local resident who is believed to have given the man a lift to his hotel before he disappeared.
Lt Col Arun added, “We found the body lying face up. It was sent to Koh Phangan Hospital for further examination.

“The deceased had returned from the Full Moon Party. Officers are currently questioning witnesses who claimed to have seen him drunk at Hat Rin Beach, where the party was held.
‘After the party he tried to find a car to return to his accommodation but he had no cash.
‘He couldn’t afford the fare, but he met a local resident and asked to be taken to his hotel. He promised to pay after withdrawing money.
The local man agreed and dropped him off at the hotel. He was said to have been visibly exhausted before he died.
“Maybe he partied all night until morning and passed out from lack of sleep. We’re questioning the person who brought him home. We also view images from security cameras.
‘There were no signs of abuse, so we believe he was drunk or had overdosed.

The party takes place on the night of every full moon and is usually attended by thousands of backpackers.
