A British tourist in India has died after he plunged 500 meters from the edge of a cliff into a canyon in a motorcycle accident on a remote Himalayan highway.
The as-yet-unknown Brit embarked on a road trip as part of an eight-person motorcycle tour to the Kinnaur tribal district in Himachal Pradesh, India’s northernmost state and home to the Himalayan mountains.
The unlucky tourist reportedly lost control of his motorcycle after hitting a rock on the road and going off the track while driving on the NH-5 highway near Kashang Nala.
His motorcycle is said to have gone off course and hit a roadside barricade, which catapulted him over the barrier and sent him tumbling some 500 meters to his death.
