Billion: Unipart provides logistics and supply chain services in 21 countries
British logistics company Unipart saw a turnover of £1 billion for the first time last year.
Unipart was founded in 1974 as the spare parts division of British Leyland, once Britain’s largest car manufacturer.
It split from the group when executive chairman John Neill organized a management buyout of the company in 1987.
Unipart now provides logistics and supply chain services in 21 countries. Airbus, Volkswagen, Vodafone, Three and the NHS are among the Oxford-based company’s customers.
The company is majority owned by its 12,000 employees, making it one of the UK’s largest employee-owned companies.
Yesterday it said sales rose 14.2 percent to £1.05 billion last year, up from £917.3 million a year earlier.
Profits were £21.7 million in 2023, compared to £12.2 million in 2022.
