A British woman who moved to the US has revealed the ‘weird’ thing that ‘baffled’ her when it came to parcel delivery in America.
Amber Peacock documents her journey to adjust to life in the United States after moving from Britain to Florida in 2023 to get her daily dose of sunshine in the palm tree-filled state.
Recently, the 28-year-old took to the video sharing platform to describe one of the biggest culture shocks she encountered after packing up her belongings.
In a viral video, which has been viewed more than 166,000 times to date, Amber revealed she was stunned to discover that delivery drivers simply drop off your packages instead of knocking and waiting for you to open the door to hand them to you .

Recently, the 28-year-old took to the video sharing platform to describe one of the biggest culture shocks she encountered after packing up her belongings.
Amber revealed she was astounded to discover that delivery drivers simply drop off your parcels instead of knocking and waiting for you to open the door to hand it to you
The mother-of-one captioned the clip: “I absolutely love this!”
“We’ve been living in America for a few months now, but this is something we’ve only just found out about and it blew my mind,” she said.
Amber explained that a few weeks ago, she and her husband heard a knock on the door and went to open it, thinking it was a package delivery.
However, it was just a ‘drunk’ man asking for a charger.
When the lovebirds told their friends about the encounter, they told Amber that postal workers don’t ring or knock.
Amber explains: ‘Then we discovered that deliveries were apparently incorrect. Since then, I’ve really paid attention over the past few weeks. There is no delivery person or postman knocking.
‘Even when I have fresh groceries delivered, they don’t knock. They just leave them on the sidewalk.”
She noted that in Britain every delivery person knocks on your door, and if you don’t answer, you’ll be “lucky” if they leave your package on your doorstep.

‘I find this very strange, but I think I like it. “It means it doesn’t matter if you’re inside or not, your package will be left behind,” she said.
At the end of the clip, Amber noted that even though it’s “really weird,” she likes it because she’s “antisocial.”
