Police are currently investigating the incident, but are treating it as a fatal accident.

According to the NL Times, this was the second child to drown in the Netherlands on Sunday after a Two-year-old girl dies after falling into lake in the Park of Luna in Heerhugowaard.

A bystander saw the child lying motionless in the water around 5 p.m. and carried her to shore, where bystanders attempted resuscitation while waiting for emergency services to arrive.

Emergency services, including a trauma helicopter, tried to resuscitate the girl when they arrived at the scene, but to no avail.

She died a short time later. Police are still investigating how she ended up in the water.

This happened after another teenager drowned in front of his friends while taking selfies on top of a waterfall in Myanmar.

Moe Sa Nay, 14, was posing with her friends for photos to share with her 150,000 social media followers when she slipped on wet rocks at Sinywa Waterfall on July 22.

Unable to free herself, Nay drowned as floodwaters engulfed her at the popular tourist attraction in Paung town in Mon State.

The next morning, July 23, volunteers and firefighters attempted to retrieve the lifeless girl’s body from the rocks.

They were spotted tying her hands with rope and pulling her out of the narrow opening.

This is a breaking news story. More to come.
