British star Gavin Gwynne could no longer see out of his right eye after suffering a horrific injury on the undercard of Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou’s event.
The 33-year-old took to the ring in one of the earlier fights in Riyadh on Friday as Joshua and Ngannou prepare for a match called ‘Knockout Chaos’.
However, it wasn’t the performance Gwynne had hoped for after suffering a nasty eye injury thanks to his opponent Mark Chamberlain.
The fight lasted just four rounds after Chamberlain landed some big punches early on, leaving a nasty cut around Gwynne’s right eye.
Gwynne then struggled to fight Chamberlain’s attacks as he seemed to increase the pressure and target the swelling that was starting to become visible.

In the third round, Chamberlain increased the intensity of the fight before landing a huge right flush to the swollen eye – which threatened to end the fight.
Despite doctors checking the eye and saying he could continue, Gwynne’s team threw in the towel just one round later after a vicious attack from Chamberlain.
Gwynne had his back against the ropes as Chamberlain landed a series of heavy blows to his opponent’s head and body before the fight was waved off.
With that, Chamberlain extended his undefeated professional record to 15-0, while Gwynne suffered his third career loss.
The fight came immediately after South African heavyweight Kevin Lerena lost via unanimous decision on the undercard to Anthony Joshua and Francis Ngannou.
In the 10th round, Lerena staggered his opponent Justis Huni around the ring after landing some heavy blows on his opponent.
Huini, 24, was clearly hurt by Lerena’s punches as he staggered back, but managed to see out the round before ultimately claiming the decision win.
The defeat was Lerena’s second in four fights, after losing via KO to Daniel Dubois in December 2022.
