Britain’s Got Talent viewers switch off the live semi-finals because of screaming audience members

Britain’s Got Talent viewers switched off during the live semi-finals on ITV.

Fans of the match watching at home felt compelled to abandon the show, unable to hear the acts due to the crowd’s ‘screaming like hyenas’.

BGT viewers took to social media to express their annoyance that people in the crowd were making excessive noise, even commenting that one particular person sounded like a “banshee.”

One person tweeted, “wow that girl screaming in the audience is so annoying #bgt,” while another said, “Will switch off when this bit #bgt #annoyinglittles**ts.”

#bgt can’t be seen, all that ridiculous screaming, you can’t hear a word anyone is saying. Eliminated @ITV,” enraged another.

“Can the crowd calm down so we can hear the results #BGT #BGT2023,” one viewer begged while another tweeted, “He’s incredible. I wish the public would shut up. Ridiculous screaming hyenas #bgt.’

“@bgt Please turn down the audience mics because you can’t hear what the acts are saying, you can only hear the audience @antanddec @SimonCowell #bgt,” someone else asked.

“If they can tell Simon to be quiet, why can’t they tell the bl**dy catcalling crowd?!? #BGT,” another asked, with another furious: “The audience gets on my t*ts #bgt.”

The complaints came when Irish schoolboy Cillian O’Connor, 13, sailed through to the final of Britain’s Got Talent on Friday night, after stunning viewers and winning the final public vote of the semi-final.

The young magician took the stage for the final live semi-final, using Simon Cowell, 63, as part of his memorable act.

During his performance, Cillian made a unique handkerchief, which was marked by Simon, jump from the scorer’s table to the inside of an apple before making himself disappear from the stage.

After the performance, the judges and viewers at home were absolutely stunned by the act, with judge Bruno Tonioli, 67, claiming it was simply “mesmerizing.”

Amanda Holden, 52, also said she was ‘lost for words’, while Simon added: ‘There’s just something about you’.

However, after the show there were only two spots left for the taking and viewers believed that Cillian had a very high chance of coming through.

After all of the night’s performances wrapped up, Ant and Dec took to the stage to announce who would sail through to Sunday’s grand final.

And of course, Cillian exceeded all expectations when Ant and Dec revealed he was the winner of the semi-final, leaving Cillian in a state of shock and overwhelmed by the result.

It comes before Funny man Tonikaku and Liverpool dancer Lilliana Clifton were the next two highest-grossing acts, but the judges could only pick one for a place in the final.

And in the end, they voted for Lilliana Clifton to go to Sunday’s grand final with Cillian.

The acts sent home during the final semi-final of this year’s series were dance troupe The Pixiebelles, dance duo Romeo and Icy, comedienne nurse Georgie Carroll, singer Cammy Barnes and dance troupe Unity

And those who will compete in the final on Sunday are choirboy Malakai Bayoh, dangerous aerial acrobatics artists, Duo Odyssey, amputee dancer Musa Motha and singer Amy Lou.

Success: Dancer Lilianna Clifton will also join him in the final on Sunday, after being chosen by the judges

They are joined by clown and comedian Viggo Venn, singer Olivia Lynes, dance troupe Ghetto Kids and singer Travis George.

However, things will change for Sunday as it was revealed that the judges would decide on a wildcard pick to return to the show for the finale, with the act revealed during the upcoming schedule.

This year’s winner of Britain’s Got Talent will be announced at the end of Sunday’s show, with the champion winning £250,000 and the chance to perform at the Royal Variety Performance later this year.

The Britain’s Got Talent final airs on Sunday at 7.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
