The 24-year-old auditioned performed a routine as part of a Latin duo with his dance partner Joanne, 28, to Shakira’s 2016 song Try Everything.

And fans of the show were just as thrilled with his sassy personality as they were with his audition as his moment unfolded on screen.

Before arriving for his audition in Manchester, Nathan and Joanne were visited by judge Alesha Dixon, who told him he had been nominated for the show by his dance teacher, prompting him to give Alesha a sarcastic look when she asked if he was willing to appear on the show.

Nathan stepped onto the stage for his audition wearing a black shirt adorned with sparkling crystals and matching pants, informing the judges that he would be performing the Cha Cha Cha, prompting new panelist Bruno Tonioli to declare, “Yes, honey !’ before a brutal exchange between the pair ensued.

Nathan and Joanne received four ‘yes’ votes from the judges – Alesha, Bruno, Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden – and the pair sailed through to the next round.

And their audition delighted viewers, with some calling for the couple to win the show.
