Britain’s Got Talent star The Witch’s real identity is FINALLY revealed

The identity of Britain’s Got Talent act The Witch has finally been revealed, more than a year after their appearance on the show.

The creepy character, who reached the semi-finals in the 15th series, completely shocked judge Amanda Holden with their creepy lines on the show last year.

Their act was also described as the “scariest” ever in a stunt where they handed out apples to the panel, one of which exploded into mealworms and cockroaches.

There has been much speculation as to who the real face behind the mask was, with theories circulating that it was presenter Stephen Mulherne.

Magician Marc Spelmann, who appeared on Britain’s Got Talent under the stage name X, was also hit with speculation that he had returned to the show as The Witch.

However, he has now taken to YouTube to dismiss the claims that he was behind the prosthetics and has revealed the character’s true identity.

He talked about how the man behind the character was actor Martin Portlock and said the star himself had sworn to secrecy about his true identity.

Marc explained, ‘It’s an incredible actor named Martin Portlock. He was also sworn to secrecy, he couldn’t tell anyone he was the witch.’

Martin then appeared on camera himself to deliver a message from his phone to his magician colleague, confirming that he was behind the prosthetics.

He said, “Hi Marc, how’s Spellman? While the witch was a bit of an unusual character, no one really knew who it was.

“I hear everyone thought it was you! I hope you and the family are well on that side and the nice heat, it’s a little too hot for my liking.’

Martin also confirmed the big reveal on The Witch’s Instagram page, writing a lengthy post sharing the well-kept secret.

He wrote: ‘Feel free to share. It’s no longer a secret. So… a year ago today I was on stage in front of television. While it’s been a bit of a secret for the past year, my identity as ‘The Witch’ has been unknown!

Magic! Marc, who also appeared on Britain’s Got Talent, was hit by speculation that he had returned to the show as The Witch, but has now revealed the true mask

‘I can now confirm that The Witch on Britain’s Got Talent 2022 WAS ME! I am an actor here in the UK

‘I performed in front of 4,000 people at the Hammersmith Apollo Theater in London, live on national television for ITV in the semi-final and again in Manchester as the final for the Christmas special ‘The Ultimate Magician’. I hope you all enjoyed the performances.’

During The Witch’s April 2022 audition act, Amanda and Alesha Dixon left terrified of the shocking stunt.

During the performance, the audition taker shoved an apple in their face, which then exploded into a cluster of creepy crawlies.

The witch said creepily as she handed Amanda an apple, “You know why they always say beauty is only skin deep?” Because we’re all rotten to the bone!’

The two jurors fled the jury’s podium after the horrific moment, with Alesha refusing to return to her place in the stables.

The women run from the stage as singer Alesha refuses to return from her seat in the theater halls.

Radio host Amanda screamed, “This is why I never moved on. I’m a celebrity, get me out of here! It’s terrible.’

As Alesha yelled, “I’m social distancing from the cockroaches!”

Speaking of her scary encounter, Amanda told The Sun, “I was screaming down the hall during the start of her act, it was just so freaky.

“This apple suddenly broke and poured all these maggots and cockroaches all over the desk, you have to see it to believe it.

“You just know right away that it’s going to be an act that we’re probably going to see more of.”
