Britain’s Got Talent star The Dark Hero FINALLY removes Batman mask and reveals himself to be British-Ukrainian Opera singer after he was cut off while sharing support for war-torn homeland

Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist The Dark Hero, who performed opera while dressed as Batman, finally revealed his true identity on Saturday.

The singer, who failed to make the final, revealed himself on Instagram as British-Ukrainian Yuriy Yurchuk just hours after he was cut off by presenters Ant and Dec while voicing his support for his war-torn homeland.

Yuriy describes himself as an international opera singer and baritone based in London and has performed all over the world, including for the British Royal Family.

The singer shared a clip of himself singing in his Batman costume and draped in a Ukrainian flag with the caption: “I have two words for all of you to remember…. I am Batman.”

According to his personal website, Yuriy has performed with the Kyiv National Opera, the National Theater Tokyo and the Royal Danish Opera in Copenhagen.

The singer has shared numerous posts against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and even visited Downing Street in 2022 to raise awareness.

It comes after the last live semi-finals were thrown into chaos when Yuriy stopped the show mid-broadcast.

The singer, who sang Let It Go from Disney’s Frozen, received positive feedback from the judges before addressing the camera.

Saying: ‘My heart goes out to the people of Ukraine tonight’ before the camera quickly returned to presenters Ant and Dec who thanked him. The exit music was played quickly.

Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, killing thousands of soldiers and civilians in brutal warfare – a war the likes of which has not been seen in Europe since the end of World War II almost 80 years ago.

Despite impressing the judges, The Dark Night failed to make it to the final with comedian Alex Mitchell and magician Trixy take the last two places.

When Ant and Dec announced the results, it was primary school teacher Alex who had received the most public votes as he went straight to the final.

Alex, who has autism and Tourette’s disease, left the judges in fits of laughter with his stand-up routine before thanking the BGT platform for giving people like him a place on stage.

Meanwhile, it was between Trixy and Denise and Stefan, a blind couple who sing and play the piano respectively, for the last room in the final.

When it came to the jury’s vote, Bruno chose to save Denise and Stefan, before Alesha then chose Trixy to even the vote as she described the decision as a ‘nightmare’.

But instead of deciding it down the middle, as it has been most nights this week, both Amanda and Simon chose to save Trixy.

The magician stunned the judges with his incredible trick when he asked the judges for a series of random numbers, which added up to the exact date and time of his performance.

On the way home after falling at the final hurdle, Denise and Stefan were visibly upset as they thanked the judges for this opportunity.

Hoping for the wildcard, where an act of the judges chooses to return for one last chance in the final, Stefan said: “Hopefully we get the wildcard, but if not, thank you very much.”

Fans are also hoping the couple will receive the wildcard, as they took to Twitter to share their disappointment at not making it through.

They wrote: ‘Denise and Stefan were criminally robbed. They were incredible both times #BGT’; ‘My original (and still because of potential wildcard) favorites Denise & Stefan are out? What a farce’.

‘#bgt hopefully Denise and Stefan get a wildcard and win!! Cowell clearly thought they were a treat for Sidney Christmas, which he wants to win!!!’

‘Denise and Stefan were the standouts for me tonight. They deserve the wildcard’; ‘stefan & denise for the wildcard that no one deserves anymore!’; “Denise and Stefan are great about bringing them back.”

Others raved about Alex, writing: “Alex should be in the final. Just one of the most likeable guys – definitely the most likeable of the whole week’.

‘I loved his act. Funny, entertaining and thought provoking actually. AlexMitchell shows that his disability is in fact his superpower.”

However, others were less impressed with the decision, adding: ‘Probably the best show of the week with the worst top three’; “Oh, Alex didn’t deserve that at all, he wasn’t funny at all.”
