Britain’s Got Talent star Sydnie Christmas brushes off fix accusations as she celebrates her Golden Buzzer success with friends and family

She was at the center of the latest fix row surrounding Britain’s Got Talent.

But Sydnie Christmas appeared to ignore the allegations as she celebrated her audition success with her friends and family on Saturday.

The 28-year-old singer wowed judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli with her incredible rendition of Tomorrow from the musical Annie at the premiere.

And Amanda Holden was so impressed with the performance that she pressed the Gold Buzzer, sending Sydnie straight through to the semi-finals.

However, despite revealing her dreams of working in the West End and her current role as a receptionist, viewers soon discovered that Sydnie had indeed had quite a career on stage.

And Amanda Holden was so impressed with the performance that she pressed the Gold Buzzer, sending Sydnie straight through to the semi-finals.

But she didn’t seem bothered by the backlash as she posted on her Instagram to celebrate the airing of her episode with a party.

She shared a video of her friend wearing a T-shirt with a photo of Sydnie’s face from the audition, with the caption, “That’s my best friend.”

She turned around to show the back of the shirt with an unflattering selfie and said, “Sydnie Christmas for the win!”

In other clips from the evening, Sydnie was seen taking celebratory shots with a group of loved ones as they all sang Tomorrow.

There was even a personalized BGT cake, made to resemble the stage, complete with red fondant curtains, the four X’s and a giant gold buzzer.

There was also a photo of Sydnie singing her heart out on the front of the cake, with the words: ‘You have two minutes to change your life’.

Sydnie’s huge group of friends and family gathered in the living room to watch her audition take place, and cheered as she was awarded the Golden Buzzer as she burst into tears.

It comes after the show was accused of being fixed after it emerged Sydnie was an experienced musical theater performer.

After the performance, fans flocked to X, with one writing: ‘Always good to see an underdog on @BGT like Sydnie Christmas. Jesus. A simple Google search… wtf!’.

While others wrote: ‘Come on, Sydnie Christmas is already a professional’: ‘Sydnie Christmas starred in Starlight Express in Bochum, Germany, and Lazarus at the King’s Cross Theater in London. And played the role of Rizzo in a Grease theater show. So no newcomer’: ‘Sydnie Christmas, Starlight Express. Just a quick Google search’.

Sydnie has worked on cruise ships, including Royal Caribbean International, where she played the role of Rizzo in the musical Grease.

She made her London debut as one of the lead voices in Lazarus, with the music of David Bowie, at the King’s Cross Theater and shared a brief backstage stint with Hollywood actor Woody Harrelson after he attended the show.

She then appeared in a German production of Starlight Express in 2019 as Belle the Bar Car.

At a press event, both Simon Cowell and Amanda thought Sydnie had what it took to win.

When asked who would win the show, Cowell told reporters: “I think it’s Sydnie, yeah.”

“It feels like a distant memory now,” Sydnie told the Mail. ‘I auditioned in January. Since then I have felt like my neck is in my mouth.

‘I’ve always wanted to do this. To be on stage, to entertain, to perform and to sing. I went on Britain’s Got Talent hoping that if I continued with that, I could just give it a try.

‘I’ve been auditioning for so many years and I thought: I don’t have much to lose now. I thought to myself, let’s try it, and then everything went so well, which I didn’t expect at all.’
