Britain’s Got Talent singing sensation Amy Lou Smith has given birth to a baby girl.

The 34-year-old tanning salon receptionist took the stage to sing Beyoncé’s 2006 smash hit Listen from the movie Dreamgirls on Saturday night’s show as the 2023 series made its debut, with all four judges sending her through to the next round of the League.

And just hours before her audition aired on ITV1, Amy welcomed baby Aida to the world.

The aspiring pop star gave birth three months this weekend after her audition was filmed at the London Palladium.

“She’ll be able to tell her friends later that she met Simon Cowell when she was in my tummy!”

“I can’t believe all the stars are aligned and I get to share this moment with my baby daughter and family.”

Amy, who is already a mother to four-year-old Hudson, gave birth to Aida at 3:59 p.m. Saturday. Her audition, the first of this year’s series, was shown on television shortly after 8 p.m. that same day.

She said she had no idea her audition would be shown during the first episode, describing it as “perfect timing”.

Amy received a standing ovation from judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli on last night’s programme.

Simon told her, “It just doesn’t happen. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone so connected to an audience in all my years of doing this. Whatever happens next, it will be great. Really, you deserve this.’

While Amanda added, “The moment you started singing I was covered in goosebumps. I was thinking your baby is probably sleeping soundly there and she’s gone “oh here we go!”. You are a star.’

Former Strictly Come Dancing panelist Bruno said, “The benchmark of a true artist is to take a song from Beyoncé but make it your own. The interpretation was on another level. you are truly a revelation.’

And Alesha commented, “That was by far my favorite audition yet!”

An impressive 6.2 million viewers tuned in to the first episode of this year’s Britain’s Got Talent series.

The latest series of Britain’s Got Talent continues tonight at 7.45pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
