Britain’s Got Talent judges and viewers break down in ‘floods of tears’ as boy, 8, who has a brain tumour receives Golden Buzzer alongside his choir
Britain’s Got Talent judges couldn’t hold back their tears during Sunday night’s show as they watched an eight-year-old boy with a brain tumor perform.
Ravi sang with his choir, Ravi’s Dream Team, and were sent straight through to the semi-finals when they released a golden buzzer from Alesha Dixon after she and her fellow judges were moved to tears.
When Ravi took the stage, he introduced his sister, mother and father to the judges and explained his reason for joining the show as he stood next to the group, ranging from five to 78 years old.
He said: ‘I’ve watched BGT all my life and always wanted to audition for it.
“Two years ago I was diagnosed with a brain tumor and I’m here to show you no matter how life takes you, you can still achieve your dreams.”

Ravi’s Dream performs on Britain’s Got Talent before getting the golden buzzer
Ravi and the choir performed A Million Dreams from the hit film The Greatest Showman, which left everyone incredibly emotional.
Explaining why she pressed the buzzer, Alesha said: “The golden buzzer is such a personal thing and I always say I can only press it if it feels right and you are such a remarkable young man.”
The judges then stood up as the members of the choir, made up of Ravi’s friends, family, school teachers, medical professionals and other children from the brain tumor community, hugged each other in celebration.
ITV viewers were quick to tell X that they were also in tears and that the golden buzzer performance was ‘well deserved’.
They wrote: ‘Britain’s got talent made me cry, that golden buzzer was well deserved; Britains Got Talent… sobbing; Britain’s Got Talent is emotional tonight; I’m in tears. Close to home because my daughter had a stage 4 brain tumor so we had 18 months of hell’
It comes after the ITV show was already in the midst of a major row when it was revealed that one hopeful from Saturday’s series premiere was an accomplished musical theater performer.
Sydnie Christmas, 28, wowed judges Simon Cowell, Alesha and Bruno Tonioli with her incredible rendition of Tomorrow from the musical Annie, with Amanda so impressed she pressed the Gold Buzzer.
But despite revealing her dreams of working in the West End and her current role as a receptionist, viewers soon discovered that Sydnie had indeed had quite a career on stage.

ITV viewers quickly took to X to say they were also in ‘battles of tears’ and the golden buzzer performance was ‘well deserved’
After the performance, fans flocked to X, with one writing: ‘Always good to see an underdog on @BGT like Sydnie Christmas. Jesus. A simple Google search… wtf!’.
While others wrote: ‘Come on, Sydnie Christmas is already a professional’: ‘Sydnie Christmas starred in Starlight Exoress in Bochum, Germany, and Lazarus at the King’s Cross Theater in London. And played the role of Rizzo in a Grease theater show. So no newcomer’: ‘Sydnie Christmas, Starlight Express. Just a quick Google search’.
Sydnie has worked on cruise ships, including Royal Caribbean International, where she played the role of Rizzo in the musical Grease.
She made her London debut as one of the lead voices in Lazarus, with the music of David Bowie, at the King’s Cross Theater and shared a brief backstage stint with Hollywood actor Woody Harrelson after he attended the show.
She then appeared in a German production of Starlight Express in 2019 as Belle the Bar Car.
