Britain’s Got Talent: Amanda Holden awards her Golden Buzzer to Japanese comedian Nabe who uses his HAIR to impersonate Simon Cowell… but viewers claim she ‘wasted’ the honour
Amanda Holden awarded her Golden Buzzer to one of her more unlikely choices on Sunday’s episode of Britain’s Got Talent.
The 53-year-old presenter was left ‘crying’ with laughter by Japanese comedian Nabe after he showed off his surprising impressions.
With his long hair, Nabe poked fun at a range of different characters from Teletubbies to Shaun the Sheep, leaving the judges in hysterics.
He ended with a funny impression of music mogul Simon, who used his long hair to mimic his famous chest puff, leaving the audience in an uproar.
But the audience, and presenters Ant and Dec, gasped when Amanda dramatically pressed her Golden Buzzer.

Explaining her decision, Amanda said, “God, I love him so much, you know, if you want to laugh so bad, you can’t get enough of me.”
“Normally when I press my Golden Buzzer I burst into tears and give a big speech, but this made me cry, you were so funny.”
Simon added: “One of the funniest people we’ve ever had and the only person I know who does impersonations with their hair. I mean, this is genius, absolutely genius.”
Bruno Tonioli praised: “I really had no idea what was going to happen and every time you surprised me you were very, very funny.”
The buzzer meant Nabe would automatically earn a spot in the live semi-finals, which hit the screens later this month.
But viewers were far less convinced by Amanda’s decision to award Nabe such a coveted honor, with one claiming she had ‘wasted’ her Buzzer.
Tweets included: ‘Just kidding Amanda, that wasn’t Golden Buzzer, the acrobat was a million% better;’
“What the hell did I just see; That act was okay. But not worth a Golden Buzzer;’

‘WTF Amanda? Another Golden Buzzer wasted!’
Elsewhere, Bruno was brought to tears watching blind soprano Denise Leigh and pianist Stefan Andrusyschyn, both from Stoke-on-Trent.
The duo, who left the audience and panel amazed with their amazing act, explained how they met 18 years ago on the train when Stefan asked Denise what time it was, without realizing that she was also blind.
Denise, 52, who has a little vision in her left eye, admitted: ‘I just thought, ‘Stop hitting me’!
When they got off the train, Denise noticed that he also had a cane and thought, “Oh my God, he’s blind too.”
But that was just the beginning of a magical story, and fate brought them together again when they were casually booked for the same music gig.
“I thought I wouldn’t tell him I’m the woman on the train because I was a bit rude to him,” Denise admitted.
The soprano shared another emotional piece of her life story, revealing that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021, but got the all clear before their audition, although the treatment changed her voice.
“I have to rebuild it,” she said.
The couple performed Climb Every Mountain from The Sound of Music, earning a standing ovation as Bruno stood while wiping away tears.
‘I am inspired by you, I learned something about your positive state of mind today. You are an example,” the judge said emotionally.
The couple’s son, Demetri, 11, was in the audience with their guide dog Tilly, along with two of Denise’s children from a previous relationship. Michael, 28, and Sam, 26.
The singer revealed that she was “absolutely shaking by the time we finished” and she didn’t notice Bruno burst into tears until he started complimenting them.
Britain’s Got Talent continues on Saturday at 7.30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
