- The bust took place in La Linea in Andalusia, near the Spanish border with Gibraltar
A British man has been arrested after armed police raided his home in Costa and found almost £10,000 of cannabis resin in one of Andalusia’s ‘biggest ever drug busts’.
The raid took place in La Linea in Andalusia, near the Spanish border with Gibraltar, known as a drug gateway to Europe.
Footage released by police today shows a team of armed officers marching to the house next to the wall before slowly walking up the stairs.
Inside the building, detectives could be seen counting a bundle of €50 notes and opening a door to a room where most of the cannabis resin was believed to have been stored.
The large packages of cannabis apparently contained the recipients’ names. One had the name ‘Ralph’ and the other ‘Coly’.

Police have released little information about the three prisoners, but confirmed one is British and described him as the owner of the villa where the drugs were found.
A spokesperson for the Guardia Civil in the port town of Algeciras near La Linea confirmed: ‘The Guardia Civil have located and dismantled a drug ‘guarderia’ in La Linea containing more than 9,920 pounds of cannabis resin.
‘It is one of the largest drug seizures discovered in a ‘guarderia’ in the Andalusia region in recent years.
‘The operation has resulted in the arrest of three people, including a British national who owns the property, and the seizure of two vehicles, including a stolen vehicle.

“The detainees have been handed over to the court.”
It was not immediately clear today whether the British man and the other suspects, whose nationalities have not been disclosed, have yet appeared in court and whether they have been remanded in custody pending an ongoing investigation.
Drug traffickers use vessels, including powerful speedboats, to smuggle hashish mainly from Morocco into Spain via La Linea.
It is a popular drop-off point due to its proximity to the African continent.
