BRIT Awards viewers in shock after ITV uncensored Daisy May Cooper’s comment on Sugababes
‘What she said about them was SO bad’: BRIT Awards viewers stunned after ITV failed to censor Daisy May Cooper’s bizarre joke about the Sugababes ‘They DON’T do coke’
The Sugababes were at the center of a bizarre cocaine joke at this year’s BRIT Awards.
Actress and comedian Daisy May Cooper, 36, made the joke while presenting the Best Alternative Rock award to The 1975 at the 2023 ceremony at London’s O2 Arena on Saturday night.
Despite the fact that the Sugababes weren’t nominated in any category, Daisy, wearing a skimpy black leather minidress, said, “God, we went to the bathroom earlier and saw the Sugababes.”
“And they weren’t doing coke, they were lovely.”
Daisy’s microphone crackled just as she said the words, but the joke wasn’t cut from the BRITs’ coverage.
Strange! The Sugababes were at the center of a bizarre cocaine joke at this year’s BRIT Awards.
The Sugababes walked the red carpet with other famous faces earlier, with Mutya Buena, 37, wearing a strappy black dress that showed off the tattoos on her legs.
Her bandmate Keisha Buchanan, 38, wore an oversized gray and white striped suit without a bra, while Siobhán Donaghy, also 38, wore a purple suit.
Daisy presented the award alongside actress Selin Hizli, 34, with whom she starred in her comedy ‘Am I being Unreasonable’ about friendship and bullying.
Viewers seemed to find the moment hilarious and shared their thoughts on Twitter. One wrote: “Daisy May Cooper saying she met the Sugababes in the bathrooms and they were NOT doing coke is quality TV.”
Another said: “Thoughts and prayers to the muted audio crew who couldn’t mute Daisy talking about the Sugababes in the toilets.”
But a third disagreed: “Daisy lol I love her usually…I think she’s hilarious but what she said about the Sugababes was really mean.”
