I am a Brit living in Australia… here is why I DON’T want other Brits moving here

A British woman who has ventured to the other side of the world for a new life is trying to ‘de-influence’ others into going to Australia.

Hannah, who now lives in Perth, migrated across the world in February this year.

But unlike the beautiful sunsets and picturesque walks we see online, the young woman’s experience of the country has been very different.

“I would like to take the influence away from you to move to Australia,” she said in the clip with more than 200,000 views.

“Because the girls on TikTok just make videos of them running on the beach at 6am with an acai bowl, enjoying the sunrise, it’s not like that.”

Hannah revealed she was struggling to find a job and said she had cried several times in the past three weeks.

The expat revealed that she had never found it so difficult to find work, even when she was in Britain.

Australia currently has an unemployment rate of 3.9 percent, with 575,100 people without jobs in the country, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

She made it clear that despite the doubts, she wanted to stay in the country and give up her life in a sincere effort.

The traveling part, which is fun and easy, can be romanticized – that’s amazing,” she said.

“But it’s hard to find a job as a whole.”

She explained that she might feel settled once she got a job, adding, “So maybe in six months I’ll be running on the beach with an acai bowl, but not right now.”

No one actually tells you how hard it is to move here. It took me two months to find a job in Melbourne

Social media users flooded her comments section with support, urging her to keep pursuing her Australian dream.

One wrote: ‘It took me five weeks to find a job here! It’s not easy, you’re right, but keep at it! You got this!’

‘I felt this! But honestly, don’t give up. I applied for a job for a company and they hired me straight away and even offered me sponsorship,” sympathized a second.

‘They are my little Aus family ❤️ don’t give up xxx’

“A few months ago I was the same, and so was my partner, but one day it just clicked,” said another.

‘I hated it when people told me that when I was desperate, but it does happen. if you reconsider everything, click x’

One shared: ‘I completely understand, the crying part too. I’ve been in Melbourne for two years now, it took me a long time to find a job, but you’ll find something, don’t worry❤️‍.”

Several others shared their own difficulties in finding work in Australia, with one writing: ‘I went to Australia in January and really enjoyed it but struggled to find the atmosphere.

‘It made me realize even more how much London/Great Britain has to offer!!’

Another added: I completely agree. If I get a job, all the money I make will just cover the costs and if I’m lucky, I’ll give back the money I lost looking for a job.

One user agreed: ‘THIS!! The traveling part was great, but the work part is terrible!

‘I tried au pairing and hated it. I tried to look for something else, but it was impossible!’
