Tobago police said in a statement that Mr Arthur, who came especially for the funeral, got into trouble after 3pm on Tuesday while swimming at a waterfall on the island.
His body was recovered shortly afterwards with the help of area divers and the Tobago Emergency Management Agency responders.
‘He came to bury his aunt and husband and now he himself is being interned. That’s so sad because he had to come all the way from England to be there and he had to die this way.’ said a relative of Mr. Arthur.
“We will miss him here in Tobago, as will the family in the UK. This is so sad’
His cousin Chavy M Arthur said, ‘One of my best cousins Justin Arthur and he was like my true blood brother. He lived with us when he was 2 years old.
“I can’t believe you’re gone. Justin, please wake up.
“You came to Tobago for the funeral of your Aunt Teresa Alleyne and her husband Christian. You were supposed to leave Tobago on Thursday to go back to England with your beautiful girlfriend and your family.
“You came by last night for your coat. I am so short of words that I feel very numb. My heart hurts.’
