A young woman dies just a day short of her 28th birthday when a trip to the beach turns tragic, leaving her family devastated in “absolute shock”

A young woman’s mother said she is in “total shock” after her daughter died in the waters off a Queensland beach, just one day shy of her 28th birthday.

Lucinda McGrath was enjoying a day at Bulcock Beach in Caloundra, north of Brisbane, to celebrate her birthday before she was seen unconscious in the water.

She was pulled from the waves, but could not be revived.

Lucinda’s mother, Lynelle McGrath, said her free-spirited daughter “loved the beach” and regularly traveled from her north Brisbane home to camp on the Sunshine Coast. mail reports.

‘Rest in peace Lucia. Thank you for giving me your free-spirited vibes during high school,” one mourner said on social media.
