Unassuming Aussie bloke who runs a window tinting business reveals the staggering amount of money he makes a year
A business owner has revealed how much he makes from window tinting.
The tradie was stopped on the streets of Brisbane’s CBD last week by popular job-matching app Getahead.
The segment began with the interviewer asking the man, who was wearing a modest singlet and shorts, what he did for a living and how much he earned.
“I have my own business and I probably do about $4 million a year in sales,” he said.
Revenue usually refers to a company’s gross income without deducting expenses, as opposed to profit.
The businessman added that he had been in the window tinting business for more than 25 years.
“I just started kicking a milk crate around and tinting cars when I was a young guy,” he said.
He built his business by focusing on commercial and residential jobs.

He also emphasized the importance of “honesty and good personality” among staff and that he typically hires employees through word of mouth rather than through online advertisements.
“We did a little bit of searching and stuff before, but it wasn’t that successful to be honest,” the man added.
His high sales left viewers shocked.
“Am I the only one who doesn’t make millions a year?” wrote one.
Another added: ‘I never thought painting would generate that kind of sales. But well done.’
A third wrote: ‘I do pressure cleaning and I make between $1,000 and $2,500 a day and I still haven’t made my first million dollars.’
However, recent data shows Australians are earning more than ever.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics revealed in August that those earning less than six figures are now considered below-average income earners.
The average full-time salary before bonuses and overtime was $100,017 in May, with four in 10 sectors now having wage levels typically in the six-figure range.

It’s the first time the typical Australian worker has earned more than $100,000 a year.
This person can now borrow $520,087, which means he can buy a $650,109 house with a 20 percent mortgage down payment.
That average worker can buy an apartment for the average price in every major capital except Sydney.
But a middle-class home is out of reach unless they’ve gone to Darwin or a suburb of Hobart.
Across the labor market as a whole, wages rose by 4.1 percent in the past financial year, which was barely higher than inflation of 3.8 percent.
