The last photo a teen posted before she was reportedly murdered by her ex-boyfriend has been revealed as friends and family share their fond memories of her.

Emily Nicole Thompson, 18, was reportedly murdered by Aaron Daniel Mitchelson Huckel, 19, after police said the couple met Saturday in a parking lot in Strathpine in north Brisbane.

Police tracked down Huckel at a gas station in Nambour and found Mrs Thompson’s body in the nearby bush on Sunday.

The young woman uploaded a poignant photo of herself on Facebook just 24 hours before she was due to meet her ex.

It was posted without a caption and is believed to be the tragic teen’s last photo.

On Monday, as Huckel appeared in court charged with her murder, Mrs. Thompson was remembered by friends and family for her kind and gentle nature.

“Emily was a smart, kind-hearted and loving girl. It was never about Emily, it was always about her family and friends,” said Tracey Pelling, a spokeswoman for Mrs. Thompson’s family. 7News.

“She had her whole life ahead of her. Her family is devastated and in shock trying to understand what their life will be like without their Emily.’

Ms Pelling added that Ms Thompson was a “beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, nephew, niece and friend” who was “taken” from her family under the “worst of circumstances”.

Thompson’s school – Pine River High School – described the young woman as an “enthusiastic, high-achieving and kind student who will be greatly missed by her friends and teachers.”

Queensland Police claim that Mrs. Thompson and her Huckel met at about 4:30 p.m. in a car park on Bells Pocket Rd in Strathpine.

Her troubled family called the police at 7 p.m. after the teen failed to return home.

Police tracked Huckel to a gas station on Currie St in Nambour, about 50 miles from where he reportedly met only Mrs. Thompson and arrested him at about 8.30pm.

Ms Thompson’s body was discovered around 3 a.m. on Sunday, about 1 km from the gas station.

Huckel was charged with murder and misconduct with a corpse for allegedly moving the body of his former girlfriend.

He was denied bail and was due to appear before the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday, but he did not appear.

He was remanded in custody with a further charge scheduled to appear in the Pine River Magistrates Court on October 31.

Detective Inspector Ben Fadian said Ms Thompson’s “loving parents” had been notified of the discovery.

“It’s a tragic event, the young lady is 18 years old, she had her whole life ahead of her,” he said.

“This is a good young lady… and this happened to her. It’s a tragedy.

“The young lady’s family has been notified and as you would appreciate, they are devastated.”

Police have found a crime scene near the parking lot, gas station and bushland where the woman’s body was found.

Inspector Fadian said the couple’s “intimate relationship” had only recently ended.

Police said there were no domestic violence warrants and there was no history of Ms. Thompson or Huckel contacting police.about something like that.”

“At this stage, we have no evidence that other parties are involved,” he added.

Detectives are interviewing Ms. Thompsons’ friends and family to find out if there was any previous violence in the relationship that police are unaware of.

Police have asked anyone who saw a white 2016 Ford Mustang or a blue 2012 Mazda 3 near the Rob Ackers Sports Reserve (above) to come forward.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the woman’s cause of death, while police continue to investigate where she was murdered.

The woman’s car was found in the Strathpine parking lot where she initially met her ex-partner.

Police also seized several items from the crime scene that are undergoing forensic examination.

Anyone who has seen a white 2016 Ford Mustang or a blue 2012 Mazda 3 near Rob Ackers Sports Reserve, Strathpine, between 4-6pm, is asked to contact police.

Police are also looking for people who saw a 2016 white Ford Mustang on Park Rd, Nambour, between 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM.
