A tenant was puzzled by a strange device in the back of a kitchen cabinet in her new home.
The woman, from Brisbane, Australia, shared her confusion online, asking users if anyone knew what the round object might be.
And it turns out that the round contraption attached to the bottom of her kitchen cabinet in the kitchen of her new rental and had two long, spiked blades on one side.
A few people offered their suggestions as to what the strange object might be before dozens revealed its actual function as a jar opener.
“I just moved to a new place and I have this stuck to the back of my closet. Does anyone know what this could be?” the woman asked in one post.

The opener can grab any lid when it snaps between the two sides. The blades provide grip and a simple twist will release the lid.
“It looks like a part of the revolving shelf like Lazy Susan and the rest went elsewhere,” one member of the group guessed.
However, many confirmed that the item was a jar opener.
“I have one and it works great,” said one woman, and another said the device was “the best thing ever,” but a third said she “can’t master” hers.
The opener can clamp onto any jar or bottle cap when snapped between the two angled sides, whether it’s factory sealed, child resistant, or even too tight.
The blades provide grip and a simple twist will release the lid.
It is often used by those with mobility issues, arthritis or weak hands and is designed to be installed in the lower part of a kitchen cabinet to save bench space.
