An argument between a dog owner and his neighbor over excessive barking spread after the neighbor opened a beer as a peace offering.
The argument took place through the Brisbane dog owner’s screened front door after one of the dogs barked at the neighbor as he walked past his home.
The dog owner’s roommate soon posted footage of the discussion on TikTok and users laughed at the typical Australian scenario.
An argument between a Brisbane dog owner and his neighbor over dog behavior escalated before the neighbor snapped and offered him a beer.
At the beginning of the footage, the neighbor could be seen yelling at the dog’s owner not only how much the dogs were barking but also how many animals he had.
‘The solution to your dog problem was to get another one, you bastard,’ the neighbor yelled.
“I’ve had two the whole damn time,” replied the angry dog owner.
As the conflict began to come to a boil, the argument stopped short of the neighbor reaching into his grocery bag and pulling out a can of beer.
‘Want one?’ the neighbor asks after taking a sip, however the dog’s owner refused the beer.
The discussion immediately turned civil as the two seemed to be making small talk outside of the argument they were shouting a few seconds before.
‘Look, we tell them to stop,’ says the dog’s owner in a calm voice, returning to the dispute.
The ridiculously Aussie move defused tensions as the two men began to talk in a more civil manner and resolve the argument.
“Dude, I’ve had a tough dog for years,” the neighbor replied, admitting to having barked-prone dogs in the past, including pitbulls.
The argument cooled to a simmer when the dog’s owner agreed to fix a part of the fence through which his dogs had been peeking with both men working to overcome the dispute.
“These two guys are going to be the best of friends in no time,” one TikTok user commented.
“Good job to this guy for escalating the situation, he handled it perfectly,” another commented.
One commented that the dogs remained mostly calm during the discussion, saying, “I love how well-behaved dogs are.”
