An Australian family has received a chilling letter from an anonymous neighbor threatening to kill their dogs with poisoned treats if they didn’t stop barking.
Anthony and Jessica Tuite, who live in the Brisbane suburb of Graceville, have two rescue dogs – a black Great Dane named Barney and a brown Great Dane cross ridgeback named Donnie.
The couple found the chilling note full of chocolate chips in their mailbox warning that their beloved pets would be poisoned if they didn’t stop barking.

Chocolate contains a chemical called ‘theobromine’, which is toxic to dogs and even in small amounts can cause vomiting, diarrhea, seizures, heart problems and death.
“If your dogs’ barking doesn’t stop, the chocolate in this envelope will be thrown over your fence in greater quantities … causing them to die,” the letter read.
“You’ve been warned quite a few times by people in Long St East and Haldane St, but you don’t do anything.”
Ms Tuite said she felt “instant panic” after reading the note and begged the anonymous neighbor not to hurt her dogs.
‘These dogs are our family,’ said Mrs Tuite 7NEWS. “Please don’t hurt my dogs.”
Mrs Tuite explained that the family had lived at the Haldane Street address for six years and that their dogs are usually well behaved and quiet.
‘They only bark when someone comes into their yard, but that’s their job,’ said Mrs Tuite.

Fellow residents of Graceville have labeled the note “immoral” and support the Tuite family.
“You just don’t make those threats,” neighbor and corporate chairman Phil Keleman told 7NEWS.
Mr. Keleman added, “You just say ‘Hey listen, how can we work together to make it better?’.”
The Tuite family has informed the police of the note, but the sender remains anonymous for the time being.
