The daughter of a deaf and wheelchair-bound man has shared a heartbreaking tribute to her father after he died in a horrific house fire.
Emergency services rushed to Amelia Street in Albion, Brisbane, about 4.30pm on Thursday after reports that a unit at the rear of a small apartment building went up in flames.
Firefighters worked desperately to extinguish the blaze and found Danny Carr, 67, dead in the living room of the unit.
Mr Carr’s carer, Jasmin Boyd, 33, managed to escape the fire before collapsing in the street.
Ms Boyd suffered significant burns to her face, hands and feet and was rushed to the Burn Unit at Women’s Hospital where she remains in a critical but stable condition.

In a moving tribute, Mr Carr’s daughter Belinda explained that her father was ‘full of life’ despite being deaf and wheelchair-bound.
‘From the moment I found out, I got chills down my spine. I knew from my mother’s voice that something had happened to my father,” Mrs. Carr said 9News.
‘It felt like my whole life was falling apart before my eyes. My childhood with my father, every moment I had with him.
‘[He was] really fun to be around and around as he lit up the room and put a smile on everyone’s face.”
Friends and family also shared their heartfelt messages on social media in the aftermath of the fire.
“I’m going to miss you, poppy, I love you more than words can describe, buddy. You are and will always be my childhood hero,” wrote Thor Matich, grandson of Mr. Carr.
Mr Carr’s relative Jorja Swain wrote: ‘What a heartbreaking loss for the family,’ while friend Robert Robinson added: ‘Rest well mate, I’ll look after your daughter and your grandchildren.’
Mrs. Swain also has one GoFundMe page to help Mr Carr’s family with funeral costs.
“Danny will be greatly missed,” Mrs. Swain wrote.
“In the wake of this heartbreaking and unexpected loss, we unite to honor his memory and uphold the wishes he shared for his final arrangements.
“Your generous contributions will help ease the financial burden of Danny’s funeral costs and support his family during this challenging time.
“Every donation, regardless of size, will help honor his legacy. Thank you for your kindness, compassion and support.”

Queensland Fire Emergency Services fire investigator Daniel Rasmussen described the scene as “traumatic”, especially for first responders.
“When the crews got here there was a very heavy fire in the rear unit,” Mr Rasmussen said Courier mail.
“There were flames coming from all the windows and doors, so an aggressive attack with hose lines and breathing apparatus had to be carried out to gain access to the home.”
Police have confirmed the fire is being treated as suspicious and have declared the unit a crime scene.
An investigation has been launched to determine the source and origin of the fire and whether Mr Carr and Ms Boyle were in a romantic relationship.
