Brisbane cosmetic nurse Laura Maree Clanchy and her unborn baby boy both die after being struck down with a common illness as friends rally around her devastated partner and toddler
A beloved cosmetic nurse and her unborn baby tragically passed away within four weeks of each other due to complications from flu and pneumonia.
Brisbane mum Laura Maree Clanchy, 35, lost her courageous fight for life on July 17, less than a month after her unborn son Finn died at 32 weeks.
Their tragic deaths have sparked tributes as friends and family gather around her devastated partner Brad Davies and their toddler son Hudson.
Ms Clancy was in the third trimester of her pregnancy when she was hospitalized in June after being stricken with the flu.
She and her partner were told that their unborn child had to die so that Mrs. Clanchy would have the best chance of survival.

Finn died on June 23 and more heartbreak would follow.
In the weeks that followed, Mrs. Clanchy developed pneumonia and an infection that claimed both her legs and one of her arms.
Within a month, the popular entrepreneur of ELK Aesthetics was dead.
Her partner confirmed the devastating news on her business Facebook page earlier this month.
It is with a broken heart and deep sadness that I am posting this message to inform you that our beautiful Laura Maree Clanchy grew her wings on July 17th to join our baby Boy Finn who grew his wings on June 23rd ‘ wrote Mr Davies.
“The battle Laura and Finn went through was due to complications with Influenza A and pneumonia, which ultimately resulted in Baby Finn giving up his life at 32 weeks gestation so that his amazing mom had the best possible chance of having hers. to survive.
“While the odds kept piling up and everything that could have gone wrong did, Laura continued the fight with courage and sheer strength that I am in total awe of.”

The news sparked an outpouring of tributes from friends and customers who described Ms. Clanchy as one of a kind.
“Laura was an exceptional person whose kindness and warmth touched the lives of everyone she knew,” said one client.
“I was honored to have met and known her. Her cheeky smile and our belly laugh as they injected me and then told me to sit still, she was a character, one of a kind. Her memory will be cherished forever.”
Another woman added: ‘Laura was the most genuinely kind, funny and beautiful person who touched so many hearts. My sincere thoughts are with you and your families.’

Close friends launched fundraising drives to raise money for Hudson’s education.
A fundraising walk will be held on the Gold Coast this Sunday where Mr Davies will join an army of supporters walking from Marina Mirage to Surfers Paradise.
Contestants wear green ribbons in honor of Ms. Clanchy’s favorite color.
“She was such a lively, outgoing person,” friend and former colleague Sue Lance told the newspaper North Side Chronicle.
“Everyone loved her.”
“She was beautiful inside and out.”
“It’s just so sad. Absolutely terrible what happened.’
An online fundraising campaign has also been set up.
“In honor of Laura’s memory and to secure a brighter future for her son Hudson, we are raising money for ‘Hudson’s Scholarship,'” the page reads.
“We believe that collective efforts can have a significant impact.”
