It could be a return to the kind of programming that brought SBS fame and high ratings more than 30 years ago, when the channel was known for its “sex and football.”

The multilingual broadcaster once attracted a large audience of night owls to their evening program in the 80s and 90s when they programmed erotic films from Europe after football.

Meanwhile, fans can also look forward to a broad cross-section of ratings in 2023.

Erotic Stories joins two other newly created drama series.

The Men Are Away is a World War II queer-themed drama comedy about exploring independence and sexuality.

The broadcaster also hopes to replicate the success of the US reality survival franchise Alone with the local version filmed in Tasmania, Alone Australia.

The US version of the show is SBS On Demand’s most successful factual franchise.

According to ITV Studios producing the series, Alone Australia will follow a cast of individual self-reliance experts as they brave the elements and fight to stay alive on their own terms, with nothing but what they carry on their backs.

In the American version of the show, the eventual winner takes home $500,000.

Aussie entrants can win $250,000 if they can beat the elements.
