A man has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing his father multiple times during a family feud.
Robert Hillemacher, 84, was allegedly stabbed to death at a home on Foote Street in Brighton, south-east of Melbourne, around 8.30pm on Friday.
Emergency services tried to resuscitate him, but he died at the scene.
His 52-year-old son, Anton Hillemacher, was arrested before being charged Sunday with murder, breach of an intervention order and aggravated burglary.
He was remanded in custody and was due to appear in Melbourne District Court later that evening, but the case was adjourned until October 28 for a preliminary hearing.
A social media post believed to have been written by Hillemacher states that he previously lived with his father, the Herald Sun reported.
He added that he had been sleeping on his younger brother’s couch for the past few weeks.
Two of his brothers were probably on holiday abroad when news of their father’s death broke.
