Roberto De Zerbi is being considered by Juventus if Massimiliano Allegri leaves the crisis-hit Serie A giants at the end of the season, just FOUR MONTHS after joining Brighton, with Antonio Conte and Zinedine Zidane also on the shortlist.

Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi is under consideration at Juventus if he takes over from head coach Massimiliano Allegri at the end of the season.

De Zerbi, 43, has enjoyed a strong start on the south coast after taking over from Graham Potter last September, keeping the club in the hunt for Europe and securing impressive wins over Chelsea and Liverpool.

The Italian signed a four-year deal at the Amex Stadium and is enjoying life in the Premier League. De Zerbi said in a recent interview that he missed Italian football, but added that he currently has no plans to return.

Juventus appeals a deduction of 15 points for alleged financial irregularities.

The entire board of the Serie A club resigned in November and, despite the success of the appeal, a new era is imminent there.

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte and former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, who both played for Juventus, are also on the club’s shortlist if Allegri leaves.

If Allegri leaves at the end of the season, as expected, Tottenham manager Antonio Conte and former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, who played for Juventus from 1996 to 2001, would also be on the list.

Conte led Juventus to back-to-back titles between 2012 and 2014 and his current contract with Spurs expires at the end of the season, while Zidane has been out of work since May 2021.

Zidane has often been linked with Paris Saint Germain and the French national team, although France boss Didier Deschamps recently signed a new four-year contract.

However, De Zerbi would represent a completely fresh start and is an attractive option for that reason.

He eventually joined Shakhtar Donetsk in 2021, but Juventus have traditionally had good relations with Sassuolo and De Zerbi’s work has been closely watched since he began to make an impression there.

While De Zerbi joined a club flying with Potter, he also added his own imprint, with players particularly surprised by the level of tactical detail in training sessions.

His one-touch passing style and quick movement are the envy of many Premier League teams.
