Brighton are reluctant to allow Tariq Lamptey to leave the club on loan before the end of the January transfer window.
As previously reported, Sporting Lisbon have made an inquiry about the right-back, a position they are looking to fill as Pedro Porro is expected to join Tottenham.
Ligue 1 side Lyon are also considering signing Lamptey, who has been a bench option for the Seagulls this season.
Tariq Lamptey is the subject of loan interest from both Sporting Lisbon and Lyon
Lamptey has struggled to start under Roberto De Zerbi so far this season.
The Ghanaian international, who opted to play for the Black Stars rather than England, has started just once for Brighton in the Premier League this season.
The 22-year-old, who started at Chelsea, had a much more prolific season last year, starting 16 league games and starring for the Seagulls.
Despite his reduction in playing time with Pascal Gross taking over at right-back, Brighton are still reluctant to let Lamptey go.

Lamptey was once considered a potential England player for the future before switching his international allegiance to Ghana last year.
Meanwhile, Brighton have also been turned down in a bid to sign Amadou Haidara from RB Leipzig.
However, Roberto De Zerbi’s side are still on track to sign 19-year-old Swedish midfielder Yasin Ayari from AIK.
