Brie Larson surprised fans at The Marvels Movie Theater Pop-In, held in New York City on Friday.

The 34-year-old actress seemed to enjoy her time at the event, facetiming her co-star, Samuel L. Jackson.

The performer, whose latest film has received polarized responses from critics, opted for an all-black outfit with a leather jacket worn over a fitted blouse.

The Academy Award-winning artist’s bright blonde hair contrasted well with the dark shade of her clothing.

The actress reprized her old role as Carol Danvers, also known as Captain Marvel, in The Marvels, which was released in the United States on Friday.

She made her debut as a superhero in 2019’s Captain Marvel, and she reprized her role in Avengers: Endgame, which was also released that year.

The Marvels focused on the character, who teamed up with Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan, played by Teyonah Parris and Iman Vellani, after the three unexpectedly began switching places with each other.

Directed by Nia DaCosta, the cast of the film was completed by artists such as Zawe Ashton, Park Seo-joon and Gary Lewis.

Jackson also reprized his old role as Nick Fury in the newly released feature film.

Development on the feature officially began in 2020 and physical production on the project ran from 2021 to 2022, although reshoots took place earlier this year.

The Marvels debuted in Las Vegas last Tuesday, although the stars were unable to attend the premiere event due to the now-concluded SAG-AFTRA strike.

The feature has since received mixed reviews from critics and currently has a 62% rating Rotten tomatoes.

Larson spoke about playing Captain Marvel during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar and admitted that she initially worried that taking on a high-profile role would prevent her from pursuing her personal interests.

She recalled, “I was afraid of what would happen to me. I thought, “What world is this, where are these choices I have to make as an artist?”

The actress then stated that she stood by her decision to play the superheroine, noting that she had tried to separate her professional and personal lives in recent years.

“Any time I feel like I’m being put on too much of a pedestal, my job is to figure out how to remove that from myself,” she said.
