Bridgerton star Adjoa Andoh stuns ITV presenters by calling Buckingham Palace balcony ‘appallingly white’ during live coverage of the coronation
Bridgerton actress Adjoa Andoh left her ITV co-stars stunned yesterday when she called Buckingham Palace’s balcony ‘terribly white’ during their live Coronation coverage.
The star, whose father was of Ghanaian descent, commented for the network on their program hosted by Tom Bradby and Julie Etchingham when she said of the event: ‘We’ve gone from the rich diversity of the abbey to a horrible white balcony.
‘I was very affected by that.
“I also look at those younger generations and think, ‘What are the nuances they’re going to inhabit as they grow up?’

Ms Andoh, 60, who plays Lady Danbury in the Netflix show, left fellow pundit Myleene Klass – who sat next to her – baffled as she made her comments.
The clip, which was widely shared on Twitter, caused a backlash for Ms Andoh. One user said, “Why is it okay to fire a white family for being white?”
