Bridesmaid reveals she was kicked out of bridal party and uninvited from wedding despite flying to destination

A woman has revealed that her friend kicked her out of her bridal party five days before the wedding and withdrew her wedding invitation.

The unnamed woman took to Reddit to reveal that she was ecstatic when her boyfriend of 30 years asked her to be a bridesmaid.

She revealed that she put her all into party planning and event organization and even made a lot of money to make her best friend’s day special.

The woman revealed that she flew to Australia for the wedding and that she and the rest of the bridal party arrived a few days early to spend time together and get ready.

The start of the trip went perfectly.

However, things quickly turned sour when the woman decided to spend one of the five days alone.

Her need for some independence sparked a heated debate that led to her being dropped as a bridesmaid.

The woman was not even invited to her friend’s wedding and had to fly all the way back to America alone.

She shared the message in a thread with the caption: Marriage drama.

The title was, “Getting Kicked Out of the Bridal Party.”

She explained: ‘Five days before the wedding I was kicked out as a bridesmaid. I have known the bride and the bridal party for over 30 years.

‘I’m literally still at a loss for words, especially after flying from America to Australia and buying all the bridesmaid dresses, flower girl dresses and evening clutch. And never heard from them since. It’s been over a week.

“I returned to America, packed up all my receipts along with a letter asking for payment for everything I bought for a wedding I wasn’t invited to, and sent it off.”

The woman described the rest of the situation in the comments section of the post.

She added, “Well, I arrived at my destination after a 30-hour flight, including layovers and connecting flights. Day One – I was around the bride-to-be. Day Two – I relaxed in my hotel and had one of my friends over and she and I laid by the pool and then I went to meet the bride-to-be and bridesmaid who arrived.

‘Day three – I was with the bride and the bridesmaid and later that day I was with the other bridesmaid. So now that all four of us are together, we’re catching up. I was excited as I hadn’t seen them in years, all good.”

However, their fun trip went south as the days passed.

“Day Four – We hung out and did stuff all day. Day Five – We had a funeral service for a friend we all grew up with and afterwards I was catching up with friends we went to high school with for a late lunch and then I headed back to the bride-to-be’s house before I called it a night and went back to my hotel.

“Day Six – Us four ladies all hung out and did our final dress fittings and so on. I ended it and went back to my hotel. Day Seven – We really had no plans as the four of us were doing something so obviously lunch didn’t happen as one of the ladies was hungover anyway so I went ahead and did my own thing and did some shopping and went to see all the Australian animals to hold and take pictures with, as it would have been pretty much the only day I had some time to myself and do things.

“Well, I think it was the wrong thing to do and it seemed like I had to stay with the bride-to-be or have permission to do something, I mean we’re in our 40s,” she noted.

Her adventure ultimately turned out to be a serious mistake.

Because of her outing, the bride abandoned her and told her to fly back to America, ending their friendship.

She added: “She ended up replacing me with the person she always mentioned. I’m still baffled as to why they did this to me.

‘I’ve been with her and the others since I arrived with little to no sleep, still trying to adjust to international life, but apparently I did the wrong thing. I don’t understand.’

People on the internet flooded the comments section, criticizing the bride-to-be for her behavior.

One person said: ‘You literally flew to the other side of the planet to be with your boyfriend! She sounds like someone of fourteen, not forty.’

Another user commented: ‘She should refund you the money you spent on dresses and alterations. She should reimburse you for everything and it may be that as a regular guest you have not traveled that far yet.

“This woman is not your friend. If you are removed from the bridal party while traveling internationally, the friendship ends.”

Someone else wrote: ‘I would get a lawyer.’
